Since 1986 our founder Mike Belton has worked in a wide variety of destinations around the world, designing and operating activity, adventure and cultural tours. Somehow Turkey always pulled him back and, in 1994 he settled in the country and founded Amber Travel.   Though retired now, Mike still takes an active interest in the company now run by Paul Forrester, who has been in the company since 2002, first as a trekking, biking and kayaking activity guide, then as operations manager since 2009.  A naturalised Turkish citizen, Paul uses the Turkified name awarded to him, Polat Ormancı.
